VoR only triggers when skills are used, and it only lasts 10 seconds with a 20 second cooldown.

With 2+ mesmers, enemies really arent going to be able to use many skills.

VoR is far weaker than SS / Empathy / Insidious PArasite are, all of which trigger on attack, even if the attack is interupted by an illusion mesmer.

Why exactly not simply 5 keystone sig mesmer with some interrupts and sig of clumsiness?

You don't need to spike for damage to go through, whoever said that. And since it's AoE damage + PvE you'll ALWAYS have a spike anyways. It only comes down to finding enough signets which the heroes can spam fast enough, preferably with a nice bonus effect.

Obviously, since it's PvE anything will work, so you could run the 4 worst mesmer bars and still win, but when going for damage effectiveness (for hero AI), I think you should just look in the direction of Keystone.

Dual sig of Clumsiness to knocklock phsyicals which heroes should coordinate pretty well. 4 interrupts for the occasional spell that does go off. A whole lot of damage with Unnatural + Sorrow (Which I think Heroes use pretty well). Might not be optimal, but this was made in 4 minutes using my limited knowledge of PvE mesmer AI.

Tested it myself, SS does NOT trigger on interrupts.

There are a good number of skills that you can bring to syngerize with each other and can be put across multiple bars, although I haven't gone all the way to 5 mesmers yet.

Energy Surge + Energy Burn + Aneurysm
Calculated Risk + Empathy + Ineptitude + Spirit of Failure
Psychic Instability + Wastrel's Worry + Wastrel's Demise
I also bring Guilt, Mistrust and Shame along with signet interrupts, so they're damned if they do, damned if they don't
Shatter Hex and Hex Eater Signet for hex removal (I don't bring monks anymore, just N or Rt)
Oh and to make things spicier, Arcane Mimicry and it's always a surprise which skill gets mimicked since my attributes are usually spread evenly between FC, Domination and Illusion/Inspiration

I also drop a res on one of the mesmers in case things go back, since what's better than a FC'd res?

I suppose the easiest way is to identify all the potential skill synergies and then spread the skills out between the mesmers. I.E. Wastrel's Worry on another mes so that it's casted as soon as the first interrupt (hopefully Psychic Instability)goes out.

I'm running 3 mesmers and at times I've got a mob ball that looks like it'll take a while to clear and the next minute I see 'Boom' and exp numbers floating up. Usually from Ineptitude + Energy Surge explosions.

He wasn't saying that they did. He was saying that the skills (SS, Insidious, Empathy) trigger on attack, which is far less subject to interruption than skills (typically anyway). In addition, thanks to wonderful NPC AI, they are basically always auto-attacking, which makes these skills superior.
